The Media-Providence Friends School 28th Annual Auction will take place at Difabio's owned Spring Valley Banquet and Meeting Facility, located at 400 West Woodland Avenue, Springfield.
Smart casual, wear comfortable dress shoes.
Food & Beverages
Cocktail-Style fine dining will be served and a fabulous assortment of elegant mini pastries. Vegetarian items will be available. $50 admission includes 1 complimentary wine, beer, or signature drink ticket. Add $15 pre-sale open bar special or $20 at the door. Courtesy soft drinks and water are available throughout the evening. Signature drinks: Bryn Mawr Tini (French Rasberry Martini) or a Bryn Mojito (Rum with Mint). Beers offered: Tröegs IPA, 2SP Delco Lager or Allagash White beer.
Please check in at the welcome table upon arrival. You will receive your name tag, and have the opportunity to purchase an entry into our Science Fact or Fallacy game to be played during LIVE. You will also be able to buy an open bar sticker if you did not pre-purchase it.
Silent & Live Auctions
The Silent Auction will take place from 6:30 PM - 8:15 PM and will be followed directly by the Live Auction at 8:45.
There are a number of games available to participate in again this year. Don't forget to bring your cash to play, $5 and $20 bills should cover it!
Best Estimate: Buy your opportunity to test your skills with our two estimation jars. Find a ticket seller with a stripped apron on. A $5 ticket may win you a $35 Amazon Gift Card. A $20 ticket may win you a $100 Gift Certificate to the Kimmel Center. Buy as many estimation tickets as you’d like and guess away! The winners will be announced during LIVE.
Science Fact or Fallacy: Get your wristband early to play our LIVE Science themed Fact or Fallacy game. Test your science knowledge, have fun and support the school. Winner will take home a cool solar backpack and two solar flashlights donated by the Solarize Greater Media Campaign with representatives from Transition Town Media and Solar States! Value: $150 Find our traveling volunteer (T. Shannon) to purchase your wristband!

This year we have a new category called, “Buy It Now” These are a collection of gift cards from our local merchants that you can purchase outright, without bidding on the item. Now you can support MPFS by purchasing from vendors that you already frequent.
We are delighted to feature grab bags for purchase. Simply place your $20 in the box and select your bag....no peeking! Items range in value from $20 - $120.

AN MPFS MOSAIC: Glance quickly at this picture and you’ll see MPFS, the 3rd Street view of the front of our school. Take a closer look and you'll discover that the image actually comprises 2000+ individual photos of current and past students, faculty & staff, Trustees, alumni, and other dear friends of the school. It's a fitting depiction: We are all a part of this school and it's a part of us. We are MPFS! This 18x24-inch high-quality, reproduction print, mounted on foam board, is available for purchase. Prints will be produced and delivered to school for pick-up ASAP after the Auction. Make this eye-catching and heart-warming keepsake yours. Proceeds benefit every MPFS student. Purchase price: $50.
Payment and Check Out
We accept all major credit cards, cash and check at check out. Once you have paid you may collect your items at reclamation.
Don't forget to bring your auction catalog with you, it is also your bidding paddle.
Silent Auction begins at 6:30 p.m.
Placing a Bid – In order to place a bid, complete the slip of paper available at each table. Neatly write your name, bidder number and bid. Place the slip in the basket on the table. Each board will list the highest bid in the basket at different intervals until closing.
Tracking a Bid – Keep track of your last bid and then check the board to decide if you will place additional bids on a desired item. You may bid as frequently as you wish prior to the closing of the board. All bids must be in whole dollar amounts that exceed the previous bid by at least $5.00. Bids below the stated minimum bid are invalid.
Board Closings – The boards will close at different intervals throughout the evening. Five minutes prior to closing each board we will announce a last call for further bidding. When the board closes we will not accept additional bids. The highest bid wins the item. In case of a dispute, the assigned volunteer’s decision is final. In case of a tie, we will have a one last bid opportunity by those involved in the tie.
Live Auction will begin at 8:45 p.m.
Placing a Bid – To bid, you must raise your bidding number as the stated bid is announced.
Winning Bidder – The Auctioneer will acknowledge the winning bidder by his/her bidding number. In case of a dispute, the Auctioneer’s decision is final.
